Various news reports are claiming Anonymous has taken responsibility for the attack targeting the Go Daddy DNS servers. It appears to be somewhat of a personal attack, it did not include the collective group of volunteers that’s known as Anonymous. AnonOpsLegion has supported this attack by re-tweeting it, but no press release has been issued about it as of yet.
Normally the collective group known as Anonymous will vote among itself. Depending on the reasons and motives for the attack the collective normally puts it’s resources together to build a voluntary botnet used for such attacks. This is not the case, a single user has decided to skip the normal process used by the collective. An impressive feat to pull off alone.
