Olymel closes its Saint-Hyacinthe plant

Olymel is closing its 107-employee plant in Saint-Hyacinthe. The plant will close on February 10 due to a reorganization in the fresh pork sector.

With the massive problems they had at the beginning of the pandemic with employees testing positive, I’m not surprised that the pork industry is reorganizing itself. This will definitely hurt the local workforce despite the relocation of employees, but animal activists will rejoice.
